The CRC building has 288 m² distributed over two floors and is located in Amposta. From its conception, the building has been built with sustainable materials, becoming a circular, emblematic and experimental building (climate positive, nZEB).
Initiatives and projects such as the PECT Ebre Bioterritori, the Bioresilmed and the iClimaBuilt (main sponsor of the initiative) are already associated with the “Edifici Llavor”.
Besides the projects, the new building centralises four objectives related to the development of innovative technologies applied to the natural space that surrounds it.
Test Bed Building
Demostració de noves tecnologies en evolvents d'edificis a escala real (TRL ≥ 7) gràcies a la seva concepció d'edifici demostrador experimental.
Innovation I+D+I
Development of innovative R+D+I activity with the opportunity to experiment on the ground with new technologies.
CRC Headquarters
Centralisation of the R+D+I activity carried out by the CRC in support of research and the adaptation of spaces to climatic emergencies.
Opportunity Seeker
To achieve and work towards future R+D+I projects at regional, national or European level in order to enhance the capacities of the Edifici Llavor
Integrating climatology into a sustainable design
The Edifici Llavor building is located in Amposta, in the Csa climate zone (typical Mediterranean climate), where there are very interesting and efficient ventilation conditions for this type of building.
In order to make the most of its location, the new building has an optimal orientation, with one side fully exposed to the wind and the other to the sun.
This architectonic plan allows the correct natural ventilation of the space, promoting thermal comfort and energy efficiency while contributing to the sustainability of the environment.
