Minister of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda, <strong>Teresa Jord\u00e0<\/strong>, and the mayor of Amposta, <strong>Adam Tom\u00e0s<\/strong>, accompanied by the president of the technology center Eurecat, <strong>Xavier Torra<\/strong>, and the general director of Corporate and Operations of Eurecat,<strong> Xavier L\u00f3pez,<\/strong> have visited today the facilities of the <strong>Center for Climate Resilience (CRC)<\/strong>, based in Eurecat Amposta, where they have inaugurated the <strong>Living Lab Ebre Bioterritori<\/strong>\u00a0and have known the progress of the works of the new CRC Seed Building.<\/p><p>The Climate Resilience Center started its activity in June 2021 and has the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda, as a technological and knowledge agent of reference to face the climate emergency and promote the ecological transition.<\/p><p>In the words of the Minister, &#8220;the research that will be done here, and which will be added to that already being done in other centers (IRTA, CTF, CREAF&#8230;), is and will always be key to move towards a more resilient Catalonia in the face of climate change&#8221;.<\/p><p><strong>&#8220;This Living Lab and the Climate Resilience Center are a great opportunity to position Catalonia internationally and to transfer knowledge and innovation in this area to other particularly vulnerable areas of the world,&#8221;<\/strong> stressed Teresa Jord\u00e0.<\/p><p>The mayor of Amposta stressed that &#8220;the Amposta City Council is the only one in Terres de l&#8217;Ebre that is adhered to the 2030 Agenda and that is why we are always at the side of all those initiatives that work for sustainability, environmental protection and the Delta&#8221;.<\/p><p>During this first one and a half years of activity of the Climate Resilience Center<strong>, &#8220;not only have new projects been launched to generate knowledge and technology to face the impact of climate change&#8221;<\/strong>, but &#8220;we have witnessed episodes that show the importance of acting to curb its adverse effects on our country and the Mediterranean as a whole&#8221;, emphasized the president of Eurecat.<\/p><p>Xavier Torra emphasized that the CRC &#8220;has its headquarters in Terres de l&#8217;Ebre, one of the most threatened territories in the Mediterranean where the impacts of climate change are a reality, especially in the Ebro Delta&#8221;, from where he works to &#8220;find solutions for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change and to identify all the opportunities that Terres de l&#8217;Ebre and Catalonia have to become a reference&#8221;.<\/p><p>During the event, there was a visit to the works of the new Llavor Building of the Climate Resilience Center, a unique construction of sustainable and circular conception, which will house R+D+I activities of the CRC.<\/p><p>The mayor of Amposta has made public the co-financing of the construction by the City Council of Amposta, promoter of the Climate Resilience Center. The building also has a co-financing from the European Commission and Eurecat assumes the rest of the cost. The works are expected to be completed in the next few
